Mini
X-Ray Vision from SOG
Once
again SOG has not disappointed with a newly released,
smaller version of the X-Ray vision series. The Mini
X-Ray Vision is just as durable as its larger cousin,
coming in a smaller, easier to handle package. The
handle is made of the extremely durable Zytel®
Nylon Resin from Dupont and will easily last for the
lifetime of the knife.
The
Mini X-Ray Vision has an overall length of 7"
with a blade length
of 3". It comes in at a very light 2.6 oz. The
blade is made of the same patented ATS-34 Steel as
the original SOG X-Ray Vision. The blade features
a partially serrated edge which makes it a very versatile
tool good for any general uses.
It
also features a very solid clip to hide it inside
a shirt or pants pocket. The clip is much more durable
than on other knives I have seen and even with repeated
stress put on the clip it always snapped right back
into place without loosening up any.
The
locking mechanism to hold the blade in place has no
give in it at all, and after repeatedly putting a
high amount of stress to it, it continues to hold
itself tight. The blade is also held in very well
when closed and there should be no danger of it falling
open accidentally. With this said, the knife has no
problem opening up easily by unlocking it and with
a flick of the wrist.
Overall,
the SOG Mini X-Ray Vision is just the knife to carry
around in your pocket for any purpose you might come
across during the day, whether it be the simple opening
of a box or envelope, to the very strenuous duties
that any pocketknife is sure to experience.
