Alpine
Kitchen Set
Food preparation and post meal cleanup are our next
subjects. The Alpine Kitchen Set is a multi-item
set that includes almost everything you will need
when it comes to meal preparation and post meal
cleanup in one sealable plastic organizer container.
Many hikers forget certain things that would make
their lives a little easier when it come to preparing
their meals, things such as a cutting board, spices
and condiments. It's not that they don't wish to
bring them onto the trail, most of the time we forget
the little comforts. MSR's Alpine Kitchen Set includes
a few things that will help us from forgetting these
comfort items. The Alpine kitchen set includes 2
three ounce plastic bottles, 1 two once plastic
bottle and 4 three quarter ounce plastic bottles,
a quarter ounce and one ounce squeeze bottles and
a salt & pepper shaker. The set also includes a
round plastic cutting board, which keeps us from
using some of our cookwear for this task. The container
itself can be used as a mixing or serving bowl.
The Alpine folding utensils that are included with
the set are the finest collapsible utensils I have
seen. The folding spoon is shaped so that you can
scrape out every bit of food from the pot. The strainer
is one of those items that could otherwise, have
easily been forgotten and wished for and the spatula
is strong enough to handle just about anything you
would cook on the trail. These items are all made
of plastic, so you will not have to worry about
scratching your non-stick cookwear. These items
all fold and fit into the organizer container.
Forget using dirt, sand or pebbles in your cookwear
to help cleanup, this set also includes a mini scrub
pad and reusable towels for drying, making cleanup
a snap. A zippered pouch is included that will hold
your squeeze bottles, cutting board, sponge, towels
and salt and pepper shaker helping to keep your
items organized inside of the container.
The Alpine Kitchen Set will nest nicely inside of
the above-mentioned Blacklite cookset. These two
items in conjunction with the DragonFly stove are
all a dedicated trail walker will need for their
cooking needs. For more information on any of MSR's
