Carlisle
Paddles, Inc RS Magic
After
you have been paddling a kayak for awhile, the name
Carlise will become familiar to you. Particularly
when it comes to discussions about paddles. They are
one of the most popular paddle manufacturers in the
United States. Carlise paddles and oars are known
for both their quality and their value, each of their
paddles represents this.
The
RS Magic is a popular choice for leisure weekend paddlers.
The RS Magic features asymmetrical blades, a two-piece
fiberglass shaft and is available in 210, 220, 230
cm lengths. The asymmetrical blades allow for an easy,
powerful stroke, and the fiberglass shaft has a simple,
snap-lock design. The shaft can be set inline or at
60 degrees, punched for right or left handed paddlers
so that the paddle can be used in a feathered position
or inline no matter what hand you use for control.
The RS Magic also comes in a women and childrens model,
the RS Magic 2. the RS Magic 2 features shorter shaft
options and smaller shaft diameter to allow smaller
paddlers to maintain power and control.
I
decided to review the RS Magic because I wanted a
paddle that I could use for both leisure paddling,
as well as some longer distances over a weekend. After
speaking with the Carlise representative and looking
at their many models, we settled on the RS Magic model
230cm in length. Carlise has other models that have
more blade surface area, which would be ok for me,
but possibly taxing to use for any length of time.
This paddle has become my paddle of choice every time
I get into my flat water kayak.I'd recommend the Carlise
brand of paddles to anyone looking for a top quality
long service paddle.
